York Soaring Charter and By-laws

Post by Jim Fryett » Thu Sep 05, 2019 8:44 pm

We been advised by the following correspondence:

York Soaring Association has just continued (import) under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act (NFP Act).
We have included the following documents:
• Certificate of Continuance and Articles of Continuance (import)
• Form 4002 - Initial Registered Office Address and First Board of Directors
• Corporate Information Sheet
Ensure that these documents are kept with the records of the corporation.
Public disclosure of corporate information
Your corporate information is now available to the public on Search for a Federal Corporation, which explains how to keep this information up-to-date.

Thanks to everyone in the club for your participation in this lengthy process which has resulted in our new status as a Federal Non-for-profit Corporation and the complete update of our by-laws. Special thanks to Paul Nelson for his contribution of legal advise and to our Boards of Directors, committee members and club members that contributed their time and advice. Special thanks to Tracey Brake for her diligent review of the various drafts and commentary that was provided.

Next on our agenda, is implementation of our new committee structure that is designed to encourage greater participation by our members in the management and operation of the club. Everyone has a role to play in the future of York Soaring and this will continue to place demands on our volunteer resources.

The Board is currently developing the various committees to carry forward with the management and operation of the club. Information will soon be available following the next Board meeting.

Thanks Jim and other participants for all that work.
I suggest that this would be an appropriate time to re-write YSA's mission statement.
The present version is very poor and not reflective of the roots, present operation or where most of us aspire to be going as an organization.
