It's the Annual Airport Day, and York Soaring will again be there.

See the details at http://yorksoaring.com/index.php/about- ... nformation

We will have my glider on static display, and some volunteers are needed. If we have enough, all of us will have a chance to browse the show and inspect the Great War Flying Museum.

This year we have an improved display spot inside the fence near the runway, courtesy of Tom Fraser, one of the GWFM's pilots. I could use some help rigging around 09:00, the show starts at 10:00 and runs until 4:00, when I can use some help derigging.

So, PLEASE consider helping to explain gliding to the community of power pilots and wannabe pilots at this event. If you are a volunteer, the admission, parking and lunch are free. The weather forecast is very good.

Cole and I will be there from setup to teardown. Will be at club Saturday to pickup some brochures and see about getting the canopy.

I believe Wayne Macdonald will be there with a spare wheelchair for display promoting York with Freedom wings.

I still have the pop-up York Soaring/Freedom's Wings in the back of my car. I too will be there Saturday, and after any flying, I will drop off CP at BFC, for an easier morning Sunday.

And it will be great if Wayne, a veritable testimonial to the FWC program, is there, with the great visual of the empty wheelchair and the 'Gone Flying' sign.

One more at least would be welcome...

If you come to help, be sure to avoid the $20 parking fee by explaining that you are with the York Soaring/Freedom's Wings exhibit.

Our most reliable members, incl. Hugh, Tony, Bruce and myself, showed up at Brampton Flight Centre to display a glider and talk to pilots of the power persuasion (not that there's anything wrong with that..) about gliding and to display my own glider, CP, with the attention-getting sustainer engine.

Pictures are here, including Tony giving Gliding 101 to a large gathering of locals, one of the all-day formation flights of the WWI replicas, and a couple of shots of the display, which, Thanks to Tom Fraser, was located beside the GWFM hangar, where traffic is appreciably higher

Great job - many thanks for showcasing our sport. Those discus wings sure look good!
