You are correct Jock. They changed the rules and then changed them again :) You do indeed have to be at least 50km from release and 50km from where you take off. Releasing in the opposite direction to your intended flight doesn't help.

Forget what I said before, it was a nice idea but was deemed too easy, I guess.

And then there is the different rule for Diamond Distance Start Zone, and for Gold Distance Start Zone.

But at least we don't have the camera, the uncut film, and the barograph smoked trace anymore. :roll:
