Freedom's Wings Large Group on Friday 28 June

Post by John Brake » Sun Jun 23, 2019 11:13 am

There is a group of 10 people coming for flights this Friday.

Assistance will be appreciated. Pilots and helpers are needed. Most of the guests are ambulatory.

Please come help out. Lots of flying to be done.

John

I will be there to help. Cole however has school comitment's. With this large a group can we get a launch priority for the group on the grob otherwise we will finish at midnight. Others seem to be able to jump the Q.

To have a guest sit 30 to 40 minutes in line without the ability to get out and walk around is pushing the limits.

John and Bruce, the forecast for Friday is for isolated thunderstorms (see https://weather.com/weather/tenday/l/CAXX1048:1:CA). If this doesn't improve, it may be prudent to schedule for Thursday if that is available to them.

I will assist whichever day.

We can adjust the line to tow GIKI with a minimum waiting time due to the health issues involved. We will make it work. If all flights require GIKI alone for the lift, it will be a very long day due to the time to change passengers. If some can fly on the K21 or RRP, we can speed up considerably.

Regards.

With 10 to fly it will need more than IKI. RRP and a K-21 should also be used. While I do not agree that others jump the Q, it may seem that way due our often lack of a line chief. To avoid this concern on the day it would be good to have a FW person dedicated to maintaining the FW flow on to the TO line. Then there can be no issues with FW flights appearing to get bumped.

If it is a good day when 30min FW flights are possible - and others wanting to fly - the turn around time for a FW flight can get close to 90 mins. which essentially means it will take the whole afternoon to fly them all. With 10 to fly some will have a long wait regardless.

I will be out, since my schedule changed, and I can fly some of them in RRP.

We will need to CANCEL tomorrow’s flight due for to inclement weather and high winds. It is being rescheduled for July 5th with a rain date of July 12th. Thank you all for your support.
