Computer cleanup

Post by Tony Firmin » Sun May 05, 2019 12:31 pm

2019 Clubhouse Computers

There are now 3 working computers outside the office which are up-to-date with the current version of Windows 10 (1209 May 2019) and set-up almost identically. Each has a guest account but note this is not an administrator account hence loading other software will require one to switch accounts and enter a password.

Each has a folder of York files and the videos that we have accumulated over the years and icons for these folders should be seen on the desktop. Each is wired into the Internet. The Chrome browser is loaded which hopefully will be sufficient for browsing, although Internet Explorer and Edge are, by default, available as well.

The one over the fireplace is new and is tucked under the right corner of the TV. It does not have a CD drive but one in the classroom does. The projector is working and is plugged into the computer so can be used when turned on There is an HDMI cable also plugged into the TV, which feeds down into the bookshelf on the right. This can be used for a laptop.

The keyboard and controller for the TV are the same as last year. Shutting the computers down and turning off the TV/monitor overnight is a good idea but not essential. Note the left monitor in the classroom has a broken on/off switch currently so don’t try to turn this one off.

The area around these computers has been cleaned up and spare cables taken away. It may be wishful thinking but it would be nice to keep these areas at least tidy 😊

Tony

P.S. Click on photo to rotate -its an Apple thing :)
