Office Repair

Post by Charles Petersen » Fri Apr 26, 2019 10:18 am

Our Captain on the Counter Mould & Mildew Task Force is on the disabled list for this weekend.

Stan had an appendectomy yesterday, and is doing well (thanks for asking), expecting to be released tomorrow. Meanwhile, he sends these instructions for tomorrow's assault on the office:
  • Materials will arrive at 0930, and need to be stacked in the clubhouse
  • Disinfectant must be sprayed on the walls and the contents that were removed to kill the spores
  • Wipe down the walls with the anti-fungal liquid
  • Paint the walls
  • Don't worry about missing drywall
  • 2' x 2' Drycore panels trimmed to fit and laid on the floor (saw required, preferably jigsaw)
  • lay plastic flooring in both offices (Stan recommends lengthwise through the door)
  • Drywall will be repaired later
Then the furniture and other removed contents need to be reinstalled. Stan recommends a disciplined approach to retaining never-to-be-used donated computers and other such. Declutter he commands

See you all tomorrow,

Charles

Do we know if the disinfectant comes in some sort of spray bottle? And if not, does anyone have one of those pump-up sprayers?

It’s a conditional I had for months, perhaps years without getting it diagnosed properly. Only when it became critical it got discovered. It took several tests here to find it as well because my appendix is not in the usual spot. Past complaints of the same concern were miss understood. I had a bad flareup in February as well. Nothing to do with the office.

I sprayed all the walls in the main and back offices with the mould control. Instructions say to leave it to dry for 24 hrs and then wipe it down with a cloth dampened with more of the stuff. There's about 1/2 a bottle left, so hopefully that will be enough. I would think we will need to leave it several days after that before painting to let it all dry out properly.

All office furniture sprayed externally. will empty cupboards and spray inside, and wipe off contents of cupboards outside of the building when sun comes out, maybe Sunday.

Earliest I have free is Friday afternoon after a dentist appointment, but it's a long drive which makes for more time in the car than on the job.

How about Saturday?
