Saturday fun continues

Post by Tom Bistricki » Wed Jan 02, 2019 3:30 pm

Happy New Year to all.
Rob is away and he asked me to continue with the work on YSK. I will be on site on Saturday, Jan. 5. and would appreciate any help to do with sanding and preparing the fuselage for a coat of primer.

What time do the festivities start? Is it BYOS? (Bring your own sander?)

We'll start at about 10am. There are two orbital sanders in the shop and that is sufficient. Most time is needed for hand sanding around canopy and on the curved surfaces at fuselage to wing joint. Initial sanding with 80 grit is done and the next task is to go around with 150 grit.
So far we have put in about 40 man-hours.

Cole and I can be there but it would be around 1 pm. Could pick up a couple pizzas for lunch if that works.

I'll bring my sander because if, according to Jock, it takes 140 hours, and 40 is done, there's a lot of work left.

Where are you at, 80 grit?

Great Bruce...appreciate your pizza offer. So far there will be only four of us.
Martin..for your sander take 150 grit.
