Still a bit more gel coat waiting for attention ! This may be the last chance to see cracked fuselage gelcoat before it's all ground off. Grab your sandpaper and come on out to the shop tomorrow. I'll be there by 10.

Your stats are too optimistic Charles. I don't know what is the current membership count but I believe that about 20 members do 95% of the work. A couple of hours per month should be made mandatory for all active members.

It took one hundred and forty man-hours to reach this stage. The fuselage is now ready for the final coat of paint.

At Last , fuselage and rudder finished, on to the wings ! We're planning to put the fuselage back in the trailer next weekend, and bring the wings into the shop. Strong backs will be needed. See you there.

Calling all K21 pilots !
With the fuselage finished, it's time to tackle the wing. Sanding continues this Saturday at Eddy's place in Orangeville:

North side of Hyw 9 just East of Heart Lake Road ( east of Orangeville ) 10 am
Soft Signs 3D Advertising Inc.
207353 Highway 9, Mono, Ontario L9W 6J2

Bring old clothes, dust mask, and sander with 60 grit paper if you've got them.

The season is fast approaching and we need this bird back in the air, so please come out and help

Keep on Grinding !
We're almost there, With luck and enough hands we can finish off the Gel coat removal this weekend.
The party starts at Eddy's place in Orangeville Saturday morning. The painter is standing by waiting for the call to do the spraying.

Bodies Needed this Saturday !
Gel-Coat grinding is done, mercifully. ( thanks to Martin S and Tom B ), so this weekend it's prepping for the primer spray. We have to mask all the openings in the wings, and re-rig them vertically, leading edge up. Also lots of sweeping and vacuuming to clean up the gel-coat dust.
The Fuselage is inside and available for stroking and drooling.
See you there

Amazing project! At a guess, you guys have saved the club over $20,000, which it can ill afford to spend for professionals to do.

I'm sorry I couldn't be there for any of it.

More help needed next Saturday, for what should be the final sanding , to take the primer down to a smooth finish, before calling in the pro for the final spray.

See you then

OK, Just one more call for help. A little bit of sanding of filler left, then a major clean up of the room so we can call in the pro for the final spray.

False Advertising, Don't need help Saturday, but do need a few bodies Sunday. The wings are finally to be painted tomorrow ! The borrowed trailer will be back tomorrow afternoon, so the plan is to get the fuselage and wings back into the trailer Sunday. So if anyone is passing by Orangeville on the way to the club Sunday morning, stop by Eddy's shop and briefly lend a hand carrying wings.
see you then

Nearly There ! Wings were painted today. Help needed tomorrow morning to put wings and fuselage back in the trailer, and ready the ailerons, horizontal stab, elevator, canopies, and spoilers for painting.
Shouldn't take more than a couple of hours, then you can carry on to the field for cleaning and construction.
