Saturday fun

Post by Rob McCallum » Thu Dec 20, 2018 9:34 am

Need an excuse to avoid Christmas shopping this Saturday ?
We're pulling the engines from 2 smoking golf carts so they can be rebuilt. 2 or 3 more people would make the job easier.

Join us at Eddy's shop. North side of Hyw 9 just East of Heart Lake Road ( east of Orangeville ) 10 am

Soft Signs 3D Advertising Inc.
207353 Highway 9, Mono, Ontario L9W 6J2

What are these golf carts smoking?

It might be unwise to admit to socializing with a smoking golf cart when crossing the US border ;)

Sorry, I can't contribute in the winter.

I'll admit to being on a smoking golf cart, but I didn't inhale.

I'd like to come if I can manage my chores today. What is the exact address or sign on the shop?

Carts done, now it's on to the next challenge: K21 refinishing. I'll be at Eddy's shop Thursday to rig the fuselage flipper, and continue the sanding. We need help sanding, vacuuming, masking , chipping ...
Let me know if you are able to help. Another session is planned for Saturday.

Attached should be a photo of YSK in flight in the shop, ready for sanding. Thanks to Tom B. who did all the masking.
YSK_inchains.jpg
Paul L. came out today and recommended we remove as much of the flaking gel coat as is required to create a solid surface for the primer. Both he and Tom B. have experience with the Awlgrip line of finishes, so that's the direction we'll take. Sand, fill, sand, prime, sand, prime, and finally 3 coats of poly-urethane, so stand by for many Saturdays of labour to restore YSK to her former glory, starting this Saturday around 10.
See you there
Rob

By mid-day 5 good men and a photographer were assembled in Eddies excellent workshop. Gelcoat was flying off at a furious rate. Thanks Rob, Tom, Eddy,Wayne & Dennis. 'Many hands make lightwork' - or in my case 'too many cooks spoil the broth', so the photographer left.
